Important Presenter Requirements:

  • Anyone planning on presenting in March 2019 must submit their CV, headshot, and disclosure form (required by Office of Continuing Medical Education) 

 All presentations must include the appropriate disclosure statement(s) after their title page:

  • Only members of ACCJH receive a presenter discount. Member/ Presenters receive the member discount + presenter discount which has a savings of $150- with registration totaling only $300 until February 15th, $325 after February 15th. In order to receive the presenter member discount, you must be or become a member of ACCJH prior to registering for the conference. Members will receive a discount code from Marlena Eastty in November 2018. 
  • Individual Membership to ACCJH costs $200. You can sign up here: https://www.accjh.org/becoming-member 
  • Non- Member registration price is $550 and includes one year of ACCJH membership as a special promotion this year. Presenter member discounts are not available for this special promotion.

 

  • Presentation Types: 
  • Peer Session:
    • Purpose: To provide an opportunity to present research in progress or an emerging idea for a research project.
    • Time: 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes of discussion
    • Location: Meeting room equipped with projector, projection screen, sound system if necessary for room size, podium with microphone, laptop
    • Details: Plan to bring your presentation on a USB drive to your meeting room that is compatible with Windows laptops

 

  • Lecture:
    • Purpose: This is a 30-­minute session with 20 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes of audience interaction. Examples: outcomes of Hepatitis C treatment in a correctional population; reducing variation in the management of chronic pain.
    • Time: 30 minutes
    • Location: Meeting room equipped with projector, projection screen, sound system if necessary for room size, podium with microphone, laptop
    • Details: Plan to bring your presentation on a USB drive to your meeting room that is compatible with Windows laptops

 

  • Seminar:
    • Purpose:  This is an interactive, 60-­minute session that is structured to involve a presentation and significant group discussion. Examples: management strategies for the self-­‐injurious inmate; system redesign for an aging population
    • Time: 60 minutes
    • Location: Meeting room equipped with projector, projection screen, sound system if necessary for room size, podium with microphone, laptop
    • Details: Plan to bring your presentation on a USB drive to your meeting room that is compatible with Windows laptops

 

  • Poster Session:
    • Purpose: This is an opportunity to display and discuss with interested conference participants an innovative clinical, quality or workforce development project pertinent to correctional health. Example: downstream impact of reduced access to substance abuse treatment in the community.
    • Time: Presenters are expected to stand by their posters for questions and discussion during the poster sessions on Thursday at 1pm- 2pm and Friday 11:30am- 12:30pm
    • Set Up: Plan to hang your poster presentation on Thursday morning before 11am. Your poster # is listed on the conference schedule and will be marked on your assigned poster board.
    • Poster Board Specs: 4’ x 8’ cork board presentation board. Tacks will be available to hang your poster presentation on the cork board

NOTE: Only presenters who are registered to attend the conference will be listed on the conference mobile app.  However, you are welcome to acknowledge additional authors on posters and title slides of your presentation.

Presentations will be posted on the website after the conference with presenter permission. Please send final versions to Marlena.Eastty@umassmed.edu

PLEASE NOTE: All presentations saved at the conference on the provided thumb drives will be posted to the ACCJH website. If you would not like your presentation published, please do not save your presentation on the thumb drive in your presentation room.
