Connecticut expanding methadone treatment programs for all prisons

Connecticut is expanding a methadone treatment to prisoners over the next year. The medical director of the Connecticut Department of Corrections says their goal is to treat 1,000 prisoners per year at an estimated cost of $4 million. Only inmates who had been taking methadone before incarceration are eligible.
