What to Include in Your Submission
Abstracts should clearly describe the problem or opportunity addressed, the work completed, and its significance to the field. The information below outlines the required elements that should be included in every abstract submission.
Abstracts must be 400 words or fewer (total). This word limit includes content for all required sections.
All abstract submissions should include the following required sections:
-
Background
-
Methods (or Approach)
-
Results or Expected Outcomes (as applicable)
-
Conclusion
For 60 Minute Presentations ONLY:
A brief description of how you will actively engage participants throughout the session
-
Authors should include up to five keywords that best describe the primary topics of their submission.
These keywords will be used to help group similar abstracts and identify qualified reviewers. Authors should avoid broad terms, such as “carceral health” or “justice-involved populations”, as these apply to most submissions. Instead, keywords should reflect the specific focus of the work (e.g., opioid use disorder, reentry, correctional nursing, telehealth, or racial equity).
Authors may indicate in the submission form if they would like their abstract to be considered for alternative presentation formats (e.g., 20-minute or 60-minute presentations).
Additionally, the ACCJH Scientific Program Committee may recommend an alternate presentation format if it better aligns with the goals of the conference.
The individual submitting the abstract will be the only person who will receive communications from ACCJH. They will be responsible for keeping all co-presenters informed of updates and conference communications.
For any technical issues with the submission portal or questions about process, please send questions to info@accjh.org.
